Things That Inspire Me

Proverbs 30:29-33  (29) There be three things which go well, yea, four are comely in going:  (30)  A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any;  (31)  A greyhound; an he goat also; and a king, against whom there is no rising up.  (32)  If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.  (33)  Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood: so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth strife.

I Timothy: The Charge For The Presence Of God
2019.jpg

1 Timothy 6:13-16  (13) I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;  (14)  That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:  (15)  Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;  (16)  Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

Things Precious To God - Part II
2019.jpg

Job 28:1-10  (1) Surely there is a vein for the silver, and a place for gold where they fine it.  (2)  Iron is taken out of the earth, and brass is molten out of the stone.  (3)  He setteth an end to darkness, and searcheth out all perfection: the stones of darkness, and the shadow of death.  (4)  The flood breaketh out from the inhabitant; even the waters forgotten of the foot: they are dried up, they are gone away from men.  (5)  As for the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire.  (6)  The stones of it are the place of sapphires: and it hath dust of gold.  (7)  There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture's eye hath not seen:  (8)  The lion's whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it.  (9)  He putteth forth his hand upon the rock; he overturneth the mountains by the roots.  (10)  He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing.

Playing Games with God

Exodus 32:1-6  (1) And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.  (2)  And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.  (3)  And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.  (4)  And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.  (5)  And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the LORD.  (6)  And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.

Families Of the Bible: The House Of Ahab

2 Kings 9:1-10  (1) And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramothgilead:  (2)  And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber;  (3)  Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not.  (4)  So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramothgilead.  (5)  And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of all us? And he said, To thee, O captain.  (6)  And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of the LORD, even over Israel.  (7)  And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.  (8)  For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel:  (9)  And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah:  (10)  And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled.
